We are Grateful!
“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” – Psalms 19:1
Whether or not you are a ‘fan’ of winter, we can certainly see God’s attention to detail and creative power in this beautiful season. A fresh blanket of snow as it accumulates into snow banks around us, or God’s frosty artwork on our windows. Psalms 19 declares “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” As we take in the beauty of His handy work, we burst with gratitude to God for the wonderful country that we are blessed to live in.
Although God declared in Genesis that while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease (Gen 8:22), we have definitely seen a lot of change in the past few years! Our new normal is a far more tech-driven, online world where our groceries can be delivered, and even our currency has become virtual. Although Bitcoin and its other variants have become a hot topic, many of us are still asking “what is it exactly?”
Is Cryptocurrency Giving You FOMO?
Many people feel pressured to invest in cryptocurrency because…. Everybody else is! FOMO = Fear Of Missing Out can cause us to submit to situations which are unfamiliar and perhaps risky simply because we do not want to be left out. Although we would still recommend you seek professional counsel before making any large financial decisions, CSS can certainly get you started in the right direction! Our knowledgeable consultants can provide valuable insight for you and your donors on estates, Wills and even cryptocurrency. As part of our Winter Conversation Series, we did a recent online session all about cryptocurrency.
Connecting with Bequest Clients
Many of your donors have planned for the future (and there are many who have not). For many a Will has been signed, and as part of their planning, have chosen to bless your charity as one of their final acts of generosity. And although the vast majority of our planned bequests do eventually come to pass, no Will or letter of direction is written in stone.
Over time, donors can make changes to their Will or update their Letter of Direction which outlines the distribution of their testamentary gifts to charity. Stewarding a legacy gift is difficult, especially one that is anonymous on a CSS Partner Report, however it is very likely that your anonymous donors are already on your mailing list, are members of your community and may even be a volunteer at your organization.
Simply communicate your ‘case for support’ to your community, and it is likely that many of the anonymous legacy donors will hear that message as well.
Call for materials that can help get the word out!
By now you should have recently received your 2021 4th Quarter Partner Reports. Review the list of your future givers and be reminded to connect with them today! For those who are not anonymous, be sure to send them a ‘Thank you’ or give them a call. Send updates to supporters who have asked to be on mailing lists – it is likely that many of them are also on your report. Let them know what your organization is doing, working on, who you are ministering to. We also have a host of materials that can help you ‘get the word out’ to those who have not yet remembered you in their gifting plans. Exceptional Service!
Recently our consultant Hilco DeHaan met a couple who immigrated from Holland in 2002. Right away he noticed that they would not do well with our will and estate jargon. He switched to explaining everything in Dutch and they were so excited because now they could understand everything about CSS in their own language! It is truly amazing how our consultants serve the community! Click HERE to connect with a CSS consultant today!
